JESUITS IN THE LAB?

I’m sorry, but this headline was irresistible:

Jesuit College: Immortalisation Project Begins

I’m thinking, They should patent it before they announce it. And, like, What will this mean for world population?

The story is not so racy. It’s from an African country, apparently Nigeria.

The move to immortalise the 60 students of Loyola Jesuit College who died in the December 2005 Sosoliso plane crash in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, commenced yesterday with the ground breaking ceremony of the N1.3 billion ($10million) Port Harcourt campus of the School.

According to the story, surviving parents were admonished repeatedly not to grieve but to see the beauty of God’s will in everything, including plane crashes.

I’m sure the dead students would have traded a few more decades of life for this kind of immortalization.
