WHY THE JESUITS?

Jesuit Watch is flattered to have an anonymous commenter.

In his or her first comments, to Boys, 7-12, Anon wanted to know why we're interested in the Jesuits, (“vendetta,” “animosity”).

Then he or she took issue with our answer to the question, “Why do rich people like the Jesuits?” This is on the post, Wealthy with Grace.

My first contact with Jesuit educators is detailed in the classic post, Mr Slimeball, S.J. It still pisses me off to think about that incident.

At SI we had a winning football coach named Vince Tringali. His approach was to identify the pillar of the opponent’s defense and run plays right at him until he crumbled.

The Society is the pillar of the pope’s defense.

Also, the Jesuits are supposed to be smart. If I'm going to do some rattling, I might as well pick the cage of the scariest beast in the zoo.

WHY THIS BLOG?

My friend sfmike says Jesuit Watch is useful to teenage and young adult Catholics who are questioning their faith.

First of all, thank you for letting me comment on your blog. Allowing my comments to remain shows a refreshing openness on your part.

Now, on to business...

"Of course I was admitted. Mr Zampisi, S.J. certainly already knew I would be admitted. He wanted me to be beholden to him, and what I was getting in return was his non-existent influence to get me admitted, plus the burden of having participated in a backroom sort of deal."

This seems a bit paranoid to me. Do you really think that this man hand-picked you out of the stack of applicants just to get you to participate in his elaborate, shady back-room deal? Let's be reasonable...

The Society defends the pope no more or no less than any other religious order. I have never heard of an order hates the pope. If they did, they wouldn't be a Catholic religious order. Also, the Jesuits have the reputation of being super smart simply because the formation process allows them the opportunity to pursue their fields of interest. There are plenty of religious orders out there that have people who are as smart or smarter than Jesuits.

I would hope that young adults who are questioning their faith are not using this blog to sort out their problems. It seems that what you have done is taken articles and the like and manipulated them to make the Catholic Church and the Society of Jesus look as bad as possible. Your posts should be objective in order to make them effective for people struggling with their faith. Perhaps posting a few positive things about the Church and the Society would help.

I'm not trying to flame you. I'm just trying to point out what I am seeing as a third-party observer.

Even though I am a big fan of the Jesuits by and large, I like this blog because of its sarcasm and its quest to get those of us who DO like the Jesuits to not forget about the seemy underbelly of the Society and the RC Church. I don't think Jesuit Watch needs to be objective -- there are PLENTY of Rah! Rah! Siss boom bah! blogs out there that do that job. Lighten up, people! You can read this blog and still be a 'good' Catholic, for Pete's sake (whatever that means...)

I understand your point. However, my point is that this blog takes that very small seemy underbelly and blows it way out of proportion making the Jesuits look like a bunch of ogres. I agree that there are bad Jesuits out there, but they are very small in number and that doesn't mean that all Jesuits are bad by association.

And, Jesuit Watch DOES need to be objective if it does what it claims which is to help young people who are struggling with their faith.

The Jesuits are all about destroying the core of society defending the core reason for the pope himself - that is to have total domination of the world through domination of it's economies of every country and to destroy antbody who gets in it;s way like so many presidents who tried to free the american people of the hold of the popes grip on it's economy. But the popes servants put a stop to that through any means possible. Look at the total disregard they have for other human beings when they are protecting their rites as jesuits to protect the pope at any price. Some links below will open your eye's to the real purpose of Jesuits around the world and there total purpose to help bring about total control of all peoples of the world - NWO.
